Chris and Lynn share the importance of mentoring.
The Information Architecture Institute (IAI) is a volunteer organization focused on empowering local communities to shape the global practice of information architecture.
Every February, we host World IA Day. It’s a free event that takes place simultaneously in dozens of cities across the globe. World IA Day is about bringing people from different communities together around a common theme to further the global conversation about how we practice and teach information architecture.
Chris is currently the Senior Director of UX for Fandango, the leading online movie ticket retailer. Previously he lead the online creative efforts for an exciting cross channel initiative at Walt Disney World in Orlando. His team was cross-functional and geographically diverse (four locations in the U.S.) and delivered high quality multi-platform designs for the next generation of in-park experiences. He is a proponent of lean/agile approaches to design process, as well as the problems of prioritizing work between parallel independent teams. He hopes there is a golden age of ubiquitous computing before the technological singularity makes UX, along with most other human disciplines, obsolete.
Lynn is currently an Information Architect - Web Services at the University of Southern California where she leads user experience research and design, content strategy, and site strategy for USC websites. Lynn also serves as an Adjunct Faculty at UCLA Information Studies where she teaches Information Architecture in the library school at UCLA. They take a hands-on approach, and draw from a variety of disciplines to inform the practice of IA in the enterprise as well as the public sector.
