This is what I have to deal with at Wal*Mart.

The Federal ATF handbook if anyone needs clarification on the law that Wal*Mart fails to adhere to:
http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/licen...

Page 156, under "General Information", section 3, paragraph 2 regarding Interchangeable Ammunition.

we have a real genius working the gun counter at our walmart. EVERYTIME I buy shotgun slugs he asks if my barrel is rifled and I tell him no its a smooth bore. He then proceeds to argue about how I'm supposed to be shooting sabbot slugs because rifled slugs will mess up a smooth barrel. This is 100% wrong. It's actually the other way around. Rifled slugs for a smooth bore, sabbots for a rifled bore. I also happened to be walking by the counter one day when he was showing an AR15 to a woman and told her "it's a machine gun like the army uses". Walmart gives zero fucks about who they hire or if they have any experience with firearms.

Walmart does have the right to refuse service to ANYONE for ANY reason. (They can set their own rules AS LONG AS they don't break the federal/state law).

Yes, their answer is BS. That is to be expected. It is a big liability for Walmart to sell handgun ammunition to underaged owners because it was 'claimed' to be for a rifle. It is much less of a hassle for them to draw the line and distinguish them, and give BS excuses because they don't want to accuse customers as being 'liars' or of breaking the law. Ass-covering. You just have to expect that sort of thing.
