California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger continues his unrelenting and most recent attack on California public schools. This time the governor has targeted school transportation. He is trying to get the Legislature to cut California's school transportation by 65 percent and contract-out any remaining classified jobs. The California School Employees Association hosted a rally at the State Capitol on Monday, July 13, 2009 to protest the Governor's proposal. Jack O'Connell, State Superintendent of Public Instruction is a champion of classified workers. O'Connell spoke to CSEA members urging them to continue their hard work and protest stage budget cuts that will put students in danger.
