A song to celebrate the digital switchover on October 24th 2012 in Ireland.

The old analog signal died without a whisper. Like an old wise character passing, its a ghostly sense of loss. Long live the deeper blacks, if thats what works for stuttering re-runs in the future. The past unseen will be a no-mans land and our latter ruin.

Television is our best time machine but it doesn't teach us about its internal mystery.... which only becomes relevant when it doesn't switch on.

Guess they must have privatized the fourth estate and sold the bottom field. It seems too technical to understand the value it possessed. Feels like someone took our swords and gave us parers, so that we can use more lead for less weight on this new medium. It may have been the phone companies drunk on ether. Call me.
