The Day the Music Died Remembering Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and 'The Big Bopper'
February 3 marks the 52nd anniversary of "The Day The Music Died."

On this day in 1959, a plane carrying musical legends Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson (as well as pilot Roger Peterson) crashed, killing all four. The day has become know as "The Day The Music Died" after it was referred to as such in Don McLean's "American Pie" years later
