The enterprise storage industry is undergoing a widespread transformation. Scale-out applications can generate the IO demands needed to justify further investment in storage area network infrastructure. NVMe All-Flash Arrays can deliver millions of IOPS with unprecedented bandwidth. NVMe-oF, and especially, NVMe-OF on Fibre Channel (FC), can transfer the data between applications and the array with almost no latency.

As the speed of the infrastructure continues to increase, and its latency decreases, capturing the telemetry data that networking visualization and management tools need to help IT maintain these unprecedented performance levels becomes more critical. The challenge is how to capture the telemetry information that these tools need without impacting performance.
