I can't find where you declared errMsg, is it that you don't need to declare it, just parameter pass it?

Thank you for putting together all of your different tutorials Mr. Banas. I do appreciate all of the work you've put into them. I just have a quick question about this one though: What is the purpose of the "return true;" and "return false;" statements in the editNodeText() function? After I completed your tutorial I removed them and they didn't appear to have an affect on the program's operations. Are they just there so the functions can be used as a true/false checks in other contexts? Thank you for your very nice work regardless.

Hi, Derek, thanks for your amazing videos. But one thing I am not sure is whether the "While (helpid!=null)  helpid.removeChild(helpid.firstChild)" should be with the parenthesis as ""While (helpid!=null)  {helpid.removeChild(helpid.firstChild)}"" ? However, both works well. So why ? Thanks.

hi Derek, thanks for a great tutorial, as always :) btw, i noticed some duplicate code in the cleaning of the helpId element.. wouldn't it be a better practice to define a function like cleanElem, and call it twice (once inside the try, and once inside the catch)?

Derek, If i want to get an element by id and change it's font-family, I do this :-         document.getElementById("foo").style.font-family="Helvetica"; But I get an error with this.

This is terrible code. Not just js but html too. For starters it uses inline js. You should be teaching event listeners. It also doesn't use the new html5 doctype. Tutorials should always be latest available info.
