Part one of the Dryzone ( http://www.dryzone.eu ) damp-proofing cream video. This section looks what causes rising damp before describing a two-part solution:

1) Prevent damp from rising up the wall (i.e. form a new damp-proof course or DPC) using Dryzone damp-proofing cream.
2) Block hygroscopic salts contained in the affected walls by replastering using the Renderguard Gold render additive.

The importance of correctly diagnosing the types of dampness affecting the building is also considered. The solution shown in the video is designed to treat Rising Damp. Other forms of dampness such as rain penetration and condensation will require different treatment strategies - details of these can be found on the Safeguard website, http://www.safeguardeurope.com/ .
