The absolute intensity of 4:12-5-20 or so hasn't failed to give me chills for the 18 years I've seen this. The 30+ years of history between Stevie and Lindsey just explodes in that 1 minute. One of the most underrated live performances ever

This song/performance always gets me. The emotion spills over to us. Two people once very much in love and inseparable, Endured betrayal and heartbreak. One of the most emotional performance I've ever seen. They will always share this. Nobody can compete with first loves.

Famous performance where Stevie sings the lyrics she wrote for Lindsey right in Lindsey's face.

I hate how Stevie Nicks never gets recognized for being a great songwriter. Just because she is not an expert musician doesn't mean she cant write a great song. Michael Jackson never gets any flack for not knowing how to play an instrument. All because she is a woman. In my personal opinion I believe Stevie is  up there with Lennon/ McCartney, Bob Dylan. I don't think men have the ability  to put so much emotion in a song like a woman can. Just my opinion.

Quotes by Stevie Nicks regarding Silver Springs -  I wrote Silver Springs uh, about Lindsey. And I ~ we were in Maryland somewhere driving under a freeway sign that said Silver Spring, Maryland. And I loved the name. ...Silver Springs sounded like a pretty fabulous place to me. And uh, 'You could be my silver springs...' that's just a whole symbolic thing of what you could have been to me. ~Stevie Nicks, Classic Albums: Rumours, video 1998 You have to realize that Silver Springs was so genuinely kicked off the record 20 years ago, and I was so genuinely devastated...because I loved the song and it was one of the Rumours songs. So I never thought that Silver Springs would ever be performed on stage, would ever be heard of again so it, like, and my beautiful song just disappeared. So for it to come back around like this has really been, really special to me. ~Stevie Nicks, MTV Interview clip 1997 [On why she wrote Silver Springs and what she wanted to say to Lindsey] 'I'm so angry with you. You will listen to me on the radio for the rest of your life, and it will bug you. I hope it bugs you.' ~Stevie Nicks, Arizona Republic, August 12, 1997 In six weeks of rehearsal, it [performing Silver Springs for the MTV special] was never like that...Only on Friday night did we let it go into something deeper. When we went on Friday, I knew we'd bring it out in case it was the last thing we'd ever do. The other shows were really, really good, but they weren't the show I wanted to leave behind. This show was...I wanted people to stand back and really watch and understand what [the relationship with Lindsey] was." ~Stevie Nicks, Arizona Republic, August 12, 1997

I don't know if there's a more honest performance of a song out there. When Stevie sings to Lindsay, "you'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you", it's just so raw. Once you've loved someone, that never goes away. It's there until the day you die. To show that on stage, in front of everyone, is incredibly powerful.
