AltNova designs, makes-to-tailor and installs ornamental ironwork. Entry gates, balconies, railing sections, interior decoration. Ornamental elements are richefully being used in our projects.
Almost all of them are being hand wrought: curls, hot forged twisted bars, spirals, floral motifs.
The entry gate or balcony enriched with these ornaments, refers to the e.g. Art Deco style of art. Also Louis XIV, XV and Art Nouveau styles of art occur frequently in ironwork.
Knowledgeable of materials and traditional working methods, AltNova is an advisory partner in the renovation of ancient ironwork of e.g. churches and castles.
Renovation of existing ancient ironwork, but also the making of replicas of historical smithcraft, according the original: protection bars, clamps, spires. You'll now see how the center piece of an 18th century castle clamp is being hand wrought. The back of the arrow (=center piece) is being cleaved.
The cleaved extremities are being drawn out. For the arrow head the section is being tapered, i.e. being drawn out to a point. The "V" form of the arrow head is being prepared. Arrowhead and arrow match perfectly.
