Creating Enlightened Society: Imagining Peace www.imaginingpeace.com
Imagining Peace was an experiential event that aims for an integrated response to violence—a response that includes broader sociopolitical influences on our homes, schools, neighborhoods, and individual states of mind. A truly complex social problem requires a truly complex response that includes the whole range of our human experience.
Buddhist spiritual leader, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, meditation teachers Adam Lobel and Fleet Maull, the Honorable Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of Chicago, the Honorable Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President, and others discussed what peace means to us as individuals and within society.
The San Francisco Bay Area event will take place 10 -12 May, 2013.
Creating Enlightened Society: Personal Path, Social Transformation
Hosted by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche with Acharya Adam Lobel, it will include Bishop Marc Andrus, Rev angel Kyodo williams, Chade-Meng Tan, Acharya Susan Skjei, Jyoti, and others. Participants will creatively engage with these groundbreaking community leaders on the interface between personal path and the ways to bring out basic goodness in our societies.
