He survived for five weeks buried in Chinas Sichuan earthquake last May and now he's risen to fame at the top of China's popularity charts.

His name is "Zhu Jianqiang" which means "Strong-Willed Pig." And, well, he really is a pig.

He was named Chinas most inspirational animal of 2008 in an online poll for his great spirit of never giving up.

This animal's claim to fame was surviving for 36 days on just rainwater and a bag of charcoal. He lost two thirds of his body weight and almost died.

After his rescue, a local businessman sold him to a museum commemorating the earthquake—and they guaranteed he wouldn't be made into Sichuan pork.

But after his rise to fame in the museum, our animal hero has lately gone from friendly todownright grumpy.

It's the ugly side of fame, and his keepers say hes become fat and lazy and doesnt want to go on his daily walks. So, its just two meals a day for him from now on.
