The Singapore Aviation Centennial Evening on 16 March 2011 marked the launch of the Singapore Aviation Centennial Celebrations (SACC), exactly 100 years after the first flight was flown in Singapore in 1911.

This gala evening brought together members of the aviation fraternity as well as key stakeholders to celebrate 100 years of aviation in Singapore. Gracing this event were Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Transport Minister Raymond Lim, Second Minister for Transport Lim Hwee Hua.

Adding to the atmosphere were the spellbinding performances of aerial artistes, children in aviation costumes and entertainment luminaries the likes of Dick Lee and Julia Abueva.

Certainly a night which will remain etched for a long time in the memories of those present.
