A rising trend in child exploitation on the web in Italy and its own decline in internet safety reputation were the call-to-action prompting Microsoft to position itself as the responsible leader in Internet safety. The Edelman team supported Microsoft in developing SicuramenteWeb, an umbrella web safety education program aimed at kids, families, teachers and institutions. This multichannel CSR campaign included collaborations with the government, law enforcement agencies and NGO's, as well as media, employee, web, public affairs and school outreach. To date, more than one million people have participated in the award-winning campaign.
