1946年、終戦の翌年に1人の日本人男性がハワイでサンダルを作り
はじめました。その当時、日本人の必需品であった草履や雪駄を南国
ハワイでも愛される履物にするために・・・
それから70年の時を経て、日本の文化を吹きこまれた
ハワイメイドのサンダルは日本でも愛されるモノとなりました。
1人の男性が日本からハワイへ持ち込んだ夢は時間をかけて日本に
帰って来たのです。
そんな物語を踏みしめてISLAND SLIPPERを愛して頂ければ幸いです。

The untold story behind Island Slipper.
In 1946- the year following the end of WWII, a Japanese man started
making sandals in Hawaii to make traditional Japanese zoris loved
footwear in the tropical island.
After 70 years, the Hawaii-made sandals which were infused with
Japanese culture have become popular in Japan.
A dream that he brought to Hawaii from Japan has come back
here again spending a long time.
