The Indian government has given the go-ahead to making public a database of people convicted of rape.

It follows the gang rape of a young woman on a bus in Delhi earlier this month. She's now fighting for her life in a hospital in Singapore.

There's been much public anger over alleged apathy towards rape.

Al Jazeera's Divya Gopalan reports from New Delhi.
