Revolutionary discoveries in grasslands The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences has awarded the 2010 Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Environmental Sciences (USD150,000) to Professor G. David Tilman of the University of Minnesota, United States. He is receiving the prize because by combining mathematical theories, laboratory research and field experiments, he has made a fundamental contribution to the science of ecology, a branch of biology that studies the interplay between organisms and their environment.
