Part 5 of the radio version of the Borders Railway From Start To Finish programme. Every three months we update you on what's been happening recently. In this programme we speak with Madge Elliot, who campaigned to save the Waverley Line from closing back in 1969. We drop in at the Scottish National Mining Museum, learn about the new Galashiels Interchange, speak with Mike Kean of Abellio, the company taking charge of running railways in Scotland for the next 10 years to hear about their plans for the Borders Railway, and go inside the Bowshank Tunnel to find out about the work done there to restore it to use. We also take you back in time to the 1840s when there was a murder during the construction of the Edinburgh to Hawick route, and we hear from Cllr David Parker on what we can expect to see in the coming months leading up to the launch of the railway in September. Presented by Paul Brownlee. Produced for Radio Borders by Stuart Cameron www.BordersRailway.info
