How to use a sphere or ball turning jig.
This is my attempt to fabricate a sphere or ball turning jig. The jig is fabricated using MDF. The base plate on the lathe ways and the pivoting base disc are 1" thick MDF. The pivoting disc has been generously coated with Bri-wax to provide a slick MDF-to-MDF surface. The 'ring' is an MDF 'sandwich' consisting of 3/4"-1"-3/4" for a total thickness of 2-1/2".

I have a motion disorder as evidence by a right hand tremor. This jig allows me to dramatically compensate for that disorder and fabricate quite true spheres (up to approximately 9" in diameter).
