On this segment of the "Green Radio Network", you'll hear from Ken Parrent, Director of Biofuels with the IN Corn & Soybean Alliance as he discusses the future of biofuels in Indiana and the benefits it can have to help improve air quality.
In 2015 The Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED) along with the Clean Cities Organizations and the Department of Agriculture applied for a grant through from USDA Biofuels Infrastructure Partnership. IN Corn Marketing Council (ICMC) provided the matching funds necessary to obtain the grant. We were able to secure an $895,000 grant from the USDA.
The purpose of the grant is to fund fuel dispensers compatible with ethanol blends higher than 10%. To date, more than $1 million of grant funding has been committed to four retailers who will add more than 60 pumps for E15 and E85 ethanol blends at 35 locations across Indiana. Applications are being taken for the remaining funds at approximately $280,000. For more information, visit http://www.incorn.org/.
