Test drive of an all tube Gibson Skylark GA-5 amp from the 1960s. These 5 watt models sometime came with a tremolo circuit but this one has nothing more than an On/Off knob and a Volume knob. I've plugged my U.S. Standard Telecaster (Duncan Jazz humbucker in the neck and lil JB in the Bridge) into the amp and used my tone knob to bring down the typically high treble this amp puts out. But once you tame the treble this baby pours vintage tube tone. These can be found super cheap and are worth every penny. Gives me 5 vintage tone Boners out of 5.
- I've used a Vox wah to weight my guitar cable into the amp input. She'll cut in and out with the bass response and I'll get her fixed one of these days. (Shame on me, I know)
