What a shame this movie did not get the correct marketing to advertise that it was a prequel as opposed to a remake. I thought a masterful job was done connecting the two movies – Especially in the final scene after the credits started to roll. I actually followd this up watching John Carpenters movie... And I was blown away by the connections. Anyone else catch the bloodstained axe in the wall in both movies?

Valentine Belov just watch the original over and over again. Only losers with no creativity copy other people's work and make a lame remake.

+DadeC0untyBoi I was thinking the same thing. A sequel to the 1982 film would be really cool, especially if it took place beyond the arctic and relied on practical effects. There was even a cancelled mini-series that would be a sequel to The Thing, and here's some more information on that: http://coronacomingattractions.com/news/exclusive-look-return-thing-screenplay http://thething.wikia.com/wiki/Return_of_the_Thing_(mini-series)

I think this movie was great. I hear John Carpenter is interested in doing a real sequel to his movie though, I hope to god that happens.

I thought it was okay. I didn't like the effects, the Thing wasn't all that scary, and I couldn't stand the female main protagonist. The lead character should have been Lars, and the woman should have been killed off at the beginning.

The main downside to this film is we know exactly how it ends

"It's a prequel to two fucking movies." "what prequel to two movies? There is only this and the 1982 movie." Yes, it's true that It is a prequel of the 1982 movie, but Carpenter's The Thing was a remake. So, it's not completely wrong, just dazed and incomplete.
Marco Giardino {VerSonal2X}
they probably assumed EVERYONE knows about that twist... Carpenter's The Thing is one of the most iconic fanta-horror movie of all times...

I just hope they give a pass for the ending though... I can't accept how poorly it was made, compared to the segments before that which were done justice, different than the first film, but still stand very well in their own
