A Secret Weapon for Black: Part 1 is the first lecture in the 2 DVD series "A Secret Weapon for Black". Presented by IM Bill Paschall for ChessLecture.com.
The Center Counter Defense is one of the oldest recorded openings first recorded as being played in in 1475. Bent Larsen played it from time to time and defeated World Champion Anatoly Karpov with it at Montreal 1979, spurring a rise in popularity. The popular name also began to switch from "Center Counter Defense" to "Scandinavian Defense" around this time.
Members of ChessLecture.com rated this series a 4.28 out of 5
Fans on ChessLecture.com said: Again, another great video lecture on the Nf6 Scandinavian. Very instructional for me to watch this despite not playing the opening myself. I think this opening really shows you to value piece development and piece activity just as much as material .
