"Where eagles dare" a movie after the story and screenplay by Alistair McLean, starring Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood and others, was filmed at Burg Hohenwerfen near the village of Werfen in Austria. The cable car, which the movie pretends to be the only access to the castle, in fact, is located in the mountains opposite the castle. It connects Werfen with the worlds largest ice cave, the "Eisriesenwelt".
Instead of the lacking cable car, a lift from parking lot to the upper courtyard had been installed not too long ago.
