Proceeds from our 8th annual "A Night at Nemours" gala will benefit the Solid Organ Transplant Program at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.

Children undergoing solid organ transplantation are among the sickest in the hospital and transplant surgery and care is extremely complex. Children treated by our program will benefit greatly from the expansion of the hospital scheduled for late 2014.

A brand-new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, where liver and kidney transplant patients stay immediately after surgery, will have single-patient rooms with space for the latest technologies. After a stay in the PICU, the child will be moved to a bed in the Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit that offers a protective environment with double HEPA filtered air for children whose immune systems have been compromised. Both the PICU and acute care environment will offer privacy for the patient and family and support better infection control. With our new expansion, Nemours will be even better equipped to care for children who require all of our resources for a successful recovery.

Our annual Night at Nemours gala to benefit Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is one of the most anticipated social gatherings of the year. For the very first time, what has often been described as "the best party in Wilmington" took place on the magnificent grounds of the Nemours Mansion & Gardens. A special thank you to all our sponsors, guests and donors who are helping transform the lives of children through their generous support.
