Kitchen Table Electronics Repair: Dell Latitude D800 Keyboard

This is the second keyboard that Dell put into this laptop while it was under warranty...and now it too is struggling. What to do? Buy a new one? Not quite yet!

Let's see what a magical journey through the dishwasher can do. This isn't a great idea for all laptop 'boards, but it is much safer for them than any attempt at disassembly. (I've done that and it's not fun to get the matrix, rubber sheets, keycaps and metal backing to mesh up perfectly.)

This worked, although the keyboard still needs some time to dry out. In the time after this video was made, as the laptop warmed up, it started to work more and more correctly. It should be fine in a few more hours.
