Eranga was born to a musical family whom father was one of the pioneers of Tower Hall Music Theatre. Her mother was a trained classical pianist. Singing and music was second nature to the family. The whole family often used to gather around the piano whilst her father played the violin, and everyone joined in with songs from around the world.

Prianga, a talented guitarist was introduced to the family by one of Eranga's uncles and the family welcomed him with open arms. Prianga introduced music of some of the famous artists such as Miriam Makeba, Pete Seeger etc. Soon the friendship blossomed into an affair and later Eranga & Prianga married establishing themselves in the local musical scene.

Podi Nona was released in 1967, which became an instant hit with many Sri Lankan music fans.

Eranga & Prianga now live in New York and heavily involved in the local music scene and work as part time actors. Recently they appeared in a TV commercial for the Nationla Lottery New York.
