Gill Sans is a typeface which was designed by Arthur Eric Rowton Gill (22/2/1882 - 17/11/1940). Eric Gillwas a British sculptor, typeface designer, stonecutter and printmaker. He designed Perpetua(1925), Gill Sans(1927-1930) and Joanna(1930-1931). Gill Sans is a humanist typeface, the most calligraphic type of san serif. Gill Sans is designed to be used on the London and North Eastern Railway for all the LNER's posters and publicity material function as a text face and for dislay. It was designed into 4 weights: regular, italic, condensed and Gill shadowed. Gill Sans font 14families: Ultra bold condensed, extra bold condensed, bold condensed, condensed, light, light italic, light shadowed, regular, italic, shadowed, bold, bold italic, extra bold, ultra bold.
