Gender inequality is a growing problem in urban slums with the burden of house chores, falling disproportionately on young girls of school going age. This in effect has denied many girls access to secondary school education exposing them to risks such as rape, prostitution, disease and drug abuse. We take a look at how Kibera girls soccer academy which is in the heart of the Kibera slum is inspiring young women to become advocates of change within the slum.
