On Gran Canaria you can find some of the best beaches, I dare to say, of Europe and even the world.
There is a great variety of Gran Canaria beaches. From long white sand beaches, to black sand ones due to its volcanic origins, to great reefs and rocks that act like normal beaches.
Due to the fact that an island in itself is surrounded by water, then you can imagine how many beaches there can be.
Though not all islands of the world have accessible beaches, Gran Canaria has a great landscape and has the best beaches of all kinds that you could imagine.
Only the west of the island has some beaches that are a little harder to access, otherwise anywhere else you can find the best beaches of Gran Canaria.
In the capital city of Gran Canaria you can find Las Canteras beach, one of the biggest and greatest urban beaches in the world.
In the south there is the well known beach of Maspalomas that connects with Playa del Inglés where you can see the famous Maspalomas dunes.
On the east side, being part of Telde, there are a bunch of beaches all connected and all different in themselves. Needless to say that Gran Canaria has great beaches for surfing and bodyboarding. All around the island you can find waves though it all depends on the water conditions that day.
Finally in the North of Gran Canaria the beaches are rocky with some waves, although there is a naturally formed pool by the rocks that is a great spot to relax by the rocks.
