At Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Integrative Medicine is a multidisciplinary program developed with the primary aim of integrating all the current complementary and supportive services being offered at our hospital in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Our comprehensive care emphasizes wellness and healing of the whole person, with special focus on patient and family participation and attention to mental and spiritual health. Our care plan aligns your physical, emotional and spiritual needs to complement your current medical treatment.

Using a "whole person" approach, we focus on providing you with the best in conventional, integrative therapies and supportive services. We offer traditional Chinese therapies that may enhance Western treatments for cancer, pain management and various chronic conditions.

We address all aspects of health and wellness-- physical, psychological, social and spiritual-- to manage symptoms, improve treatment efficacy, increase well-being and enhance quality of life.

In order to facilitate one's innate healing process, we believe it is essential to establish a partnership between you, your family and our committed healthcare professionals, including your oncologist. You should review additional medications with your oncologist to ensure they do not interfere with your standard cancer treatment.
