Marek Losey's stunning debut feature film THE HIDE is the screen adaptation of Tim Whitnall's critically acclaimed play 'The Sociable Plover'. Starring Alex MacQueen (IN THE LOOP, FOUR LIONS) and Phil Campbell, THE HIDE was shot at Pinewood Studios and on location in Kent.

Losey's film delves into the dark world of human emotion and power struggles. In a lone bird hide on the wind-swept Suffolk marshes, bird watcher Roy Tunt is attempting to spot the elusive Sociable Plover thereby completing his entire list of British birds. His day is rudely interrupted with the arrival of Dave John, an imposing and mysterious stranger. Their opposing social and ideological views create an intriguingly humorous yet deadly game of cat and mouse ensuring a very unexpected outcome.

Film critic Cosmo Landesman from The Times described THE HIDE as "a macabre gem". David Jenkins from Time Out wrote "Losey is a talent to watch and THE HIDE makes for one hell of a Hollywood calling card". Tim Robey from The Daily Telegraph described THE HIDE as "a throughly enjoyable two hander, the twist has a sick verve". Philip French from The Guardian wrote "THE HIDE is a confident and highly promising feature debut from Losey".

In Britain THE HIDE received nominations at The Evening Standard Film Awards, The British Independent Film Awards and The Writers Guild. Accolades followed with 6 further nominations and 7 awards internationally.
