U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in favor of H.R. 6018, the Foreign Relations Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013, which passed the House by a vote of 333-61. This legislation, which cuts spending approximately $2 billion (11%) below current-year levels, authorizes funding for the Department of State, U.S. international broadcasting, and the Peace Corps, which have been operating without authorization since the September 2002 Act. It also halts the unaccountable spending increases of the last decade, while increasing Congressional oversight leverage and management reforms.
