This greater banded hornet (Vespa tropica) is a medium-sized to large species, about the size of the European hornet Vespa crabro or slightly larger.

Unlike the one in my first video clip, this was not a pet. I simply captured and held it for an afternoon to photograph, and got this clip in the process as well. Honey was used to lure it onto my hand, there is no way I could force a hornet to get up my hand without getting stung if I didn't offer it some food.
