A quick video showing my completed Iron Man suit! The suit is the Mark 4 from the beginning of Iron Man 2, I picked it to build simply because I thought it had the best design and the classic circular arc reactor that everyone recognizes. I sculpted the Helmet out of oil based clay, and cast it in plastic. The rest of the suit I built out of cardboard and craft foam, then covered in Duct Tape. For the mechanics in the helmet, I took apart a $20 remote control car and repurposed it to move my face plate. If you would like to see more pictures and the progress of the suit, check out my thread on the Replica Prop Forum-
"Can you see through the eyes"? Yes. there is a small slit underneath the lights I can see through.
"Can you get out of the suit?" Yes, I can put on the suit and take it off by myself with relative ease.
"Can you sell me one for $400." NO. $400 was the price of materials. That doesn't include COUNTLESS man hours. If I were to make another suit for sale, I can guarantee I would not go under $1,000
IF YOU POST A COMMENT ASKING ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS IT WILL BE DELETED
Note: I'm aware the helmet is a little misshapen, I did this intentionally to house the electronics necessary to move the faceplate. If I had done this with arduino tech I wouldn't have needed to deviate from the correct shape, but it also would have cost quite a bit more.
