They had a weekend press beta, it produced hundreds or thousands of hours of video game footage, people are talking about the game, they are seeing it, and some people are still bad mouthing it. People who want to badmouth somthing will find a reason. They clearly feel their game isnt ready for open beta but they certainly arnt 'hiding' it from the public.
Do you have any idea how much free advertisement could create hype? See what I did there? NDA only gives a bad image of a game. If they don't want people talking about the game and fear the majority will bad mouth it then clearly they feel their own game isn't up to snuff.
Did it also cross your mind the game is really good and they don't want half the game viewable on the internet before its even released? Do you have any idea how much of a hit to sales it is when people have that "eh I've already seen it, don't see the point of buying it" in the back of their mind or are you just trolling for the hell of it? That and all the dumb loud minority saying the game is bad when it actually is not.
Everytime a game has strict NDA it's always because the game is terrible.

Personally, I disliked the way TOR portrayed its story. Don't get me wrong, I liked the class stories, however the side quest story was way too much. I felt like I was stuck in a conversation 90% of the time, and 5% was combat. It got to the point where I was skipping pretty much all the story. Eventually just making me bored and unsubscribing. I love story and lore in games, just not how TOR did it. Tizz my opinion at least. :D
that "dungeon" looked so crap
