This short extract was from the The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of North Louisiana's 1999 production of HMS Pinafore, directed by John Matthews.
Superb local baritone Richard King, as The Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Porter, KCB, First Lord of the Admiralty, informs the assembled party how he came to be "Ruler of the Queen's Navee."
This was recorded on a modest Sony camcorder with on-board microphone. The performance was, of course, not amplified in any way - true G & S. John Matthews is "old school" "If you can't be heard at the back of the auditorium, you have no business being on stage!"
