On Wednesday, May 5, 2010, 49 immigrants from over 25 different countries were granted citizenship during a naturalization ceremony held at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland, Oregon.

As one of the last festivities of the citys annual Cinco de Mayo festival, the ceremony proved to a solemn and meaningful event and especially significant during this point in the United States history.

The Portland Fire & Rescue Quartet, made up of Firefighters Scott Goetchius, Stew White, Joe Troncoso, and Zo Gonzales, began the ceremony with a rendition of the National Anthem.
