I received this game as a Christmas present, and my cousin and I had a lot of fun playing it over the holiday. Fans of the movie will be pleased with the nicely drawn graphics, well chosen set pieces and the very faithful soundtrack.
From my point of view, I love the fact that this game is presented in lateral-view with flip screen. I have always loved flip-screen games (e.g. Exolon) as in my opinion they give a stronger sense of progress and exploration than scrolled games. It also contributes a very 8-bit feel to the gameplay. Ironically, the very impressive ZX Spectrum port by Toposoft has full scrolling!
The key to this game is careful memorisation of the attack waves. That leads to my only major complaint: there is no way to start from later levels so you have to play from the beginning each time.
Please note the video has been edited to cut loading times and an abortive attempt at the second level. :)
