The first object of any visit to Amalfi, Italy should be Saint Andrew's Cathedral.

A flight of stone steps lead up to the main portico of the cathedral, which is decorated with bright tiles.

The arches and much of the church's facade are inspired by Arabic architecture, giving it a unique appearance.

Saint Andrew's Cathedral was built mostly in the 9th century, and contains elements leading up to 19th century.

As a result of the structures periodic reconstructions and additions, Baroque, Byzantine, Gothic, and Romanesque architectural elements were added.
