The Rolling Hitch knot is a great knot for tying a line onto another line. Once the rolling hitch has been tied, there are two wraps around on one side of the knot and one wrap around on the other side of the knot. The Rolling Hitch is a designed to move when the knot is pulled in the direction of the side that has one wrap and to grab (or not move) when the knot is pull in the direction towards the side that has two wraps. It is important to always place the two wrap side of the knot on the side that you need tension.
