Haydn's early works for string quartet are all in the style of a divertimento, each with two minuets framing a larger-scale slow central movement. The quartet op. 2 no. 2 was written between 1760 and 1762. Its fanfare-like beginning was an appropriate start for the 2016 Festival, played by the Kodaly Quartet of Budapest. Concert given with the support of the Hungarian Institute in Bratislava.
