Boyd Matson interviews Dr Steve Boyes about his work on combatting the trade in wild-caught African Grey Parrots with the World Parrot Trust Africa. As a National Geographic Grantee and a Postdoctoral fellow at the Percy FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology (University of Cape Town), Steve spends most of his time studying and conserving the most endangered parrot in Africa, the Cape Parrot. Please follow Steve's blog posts on National Geographic News Watch for more information on his work on Cape Parrots, African Greys, wetland birds in the Okavango Delta, and birding surveys in remote areas.
