1994. Located on the shore of California's Lake Tahoe, The Pope House is one of three estates comprising the Tallac Historic Site. Begun in the late 1800s, the home was built for one of the wealthy families who could afford to reach the then rather remote vacation spot. In the 1960s the USDA Forest Service took possession of the site and in 1986 it was put on the National Register of Historic Places. The video explores the estates interior which is being restored to its prime, and is hosted by Carol Bordeaux one of the Forest Service volunteers who gives tours of the house during the summer season.
