Fred Rogers' induction into the TV Critics' Television Hall of Fame is especially touching when Jeff Erlanger, who had visited on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood as a boy in a wheelchair, surprises Fred by making the presentation on stage. Addressing the audience of television celebrities and producers, Fred speaks of his great respect for and understanding of the power of television—"How do we make goodness attractive?"

Did Mr Rogers just skip the intro, climb on stage and hug a friend?

Mr. Rogers rushed the stage at his own tribute, to greet and hug someone, and pay homage to said person, after not seeing him for 20 years. I'm going to go over here and cry a little bit, because even when Mr. Rogers does the wrong thing, it turns out to be the right thing for the right reasons

I like to think I am a tough guy, I work in a profession where I see the worst in people and I become cynical and jaded. I feel like I don't have any emotions. But whenever I see Mr. Rogers give this speech I can't help but cry, because he was there for me to tell me I am special, to have feelings, and that I was loved when I didn't have a family because I was orphaned. The world lost a great person when he died.
