Prince Gomolvilas is a Thai-American playwright, born in Indiana and raised in California. He earned a BA in film and screenwriting, and a MFA in creative writing and playwriting from San Francisco State University.

In 1992, while living in San Francisco, Gomolvilas began writing plays. Those plays—including Big Hunk o' Burnin' Love, The Theory of Everything, and the stage adaptation of the Scott Heim novel, Mysterious Skin—have been produced around the United States, in the U.K., and in Singapore. In 2001, he received the PEN Center USA Literary Award for Drama.

He is the associate director of Master of Professional Writing Program at the University of Southern California, where he is also an assistant professor. When he's not writing or teaching, Gomolvilas tours the country with musician Brandon Patton as part of the critically acclaimed, storytelling song-singing, bingo-playing duo, Jukebox Stories.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
