This project addresses some of the core issues in the area of 3D Internet, including advanced rendering algorithms (for which 3D Internet may be the killer app) and XML3D.
XML3D is an extension to HTML5 which enables processing and displaying of bleeding-edge interactive 3D graphics in the browser. The integration with HTML as well as other ubiquitous W3C standards such as DOM, CSS, and others, allows millions of web programmers to directly apply their existing knowledge and easily create interactive high-quality 3D content and applications.

On the advanced rendering side we aim at developing generic global illumination and rendering techniques, capable of adjusting themselves automatically to the demands of the applications. Based on our experience, we have further developed a novel rendering algorithm, which achieves nearly perfect importance sampling, by computing and caching probability density functions in automatically chosen locations in the scene.
