This machine has evolved over several years. It was initially a splitting ram and wedge mounted on a wooden frame over a hay rack frame. As it is now, it can handle "logs" up to 16" diameter, as long as they aren't too twisted. In our region, anything straight enough to go through a commercial firewood processor is considered a saw log - this machine can use the wood that others cannot.
