Eight producers, over 20,000 commercials a year, 100s of voiceover artists and one of the busiest commercial departments in the world! That's all it takes to make the National Ice Centre's new Christmas adverts!
We've been on a behind the scenes visit to the Capital FM studios in Nottingham to see our new radio adverts being made and we're giving you a glimpse into the world of creativity.
The creative team in the city make on average 76 ads a day for the entire Global Group (Capital, Heart, XFM, Classic, LBC, Choice and Gold) -- so it's a very busy studio!
Our new ads hit the Capital FM air waves on Thursday 1 December to celebrate the start of the Christmas skating sessions at the NIC and it's been put together by Senior Commercial Producer, Ben Davis.
Ben, who has worked in the industry for the last 10 years, showed us how they record the voice-over artist for our new commercial. We're using Mel Hampshire for our advert and she called in from her Berkshire home and linked up live via ISDN to the Capital FM studios.
Mel read over the script and her and Ben discussed how to make it to sound up beat and festive and after a few practice reads -- she went for it!
Mixed with a Christmas track in the background and taking out a few breaths and ums and arrs...within half an hour it was a wrap!
Make sure you listen out for our new adverts on air... we hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed seeing them being made.
