For a second year in a row, the Vanderbilt Aerospace Club was chosen as the overall winner of NASA's 2014 Student Launch Competition out of a starting field of 31 university and college teams. The flawless performance of their rocket during the May 17 launch day at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah clinched their victory, but the nine-month competition consisted of much more than simply designing and building a model rocket. It required the design and flight testing of three payloads, preparation of detailed engineering reports, rocket flight tests, creation of a website and community outreach efforts. This is the official NASA video which documents the flight and interviews team members.
